Privacy Policy

ClosingCal is designed to collect as little as possible. Here's exactly what happens to your information.

1. The short version

The deals you enter stay in your browser and in the link you share. They aren't sent to or stored on our servers.
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. It uses cookies, and you can opt out.
If you join the newsletter, your email is stored with our email provider, Resend, so we can send it. You can unsubscribe anytime.
We don't sell your personal information.

2. Deal data you enter

The calculator runs entirely in your browser. The state, form, dates, and any edits are stored in the page address after the “#” (the URL fragment). Browsers don't send the fragment to web servers, so our servers and our host never receive your deal details. When you copy a “private deal link,” those details are in the link itself, so anyone you share it with can see them. Calendar (.ics) files and PDFs are created on your device. Don't type client names or other sensitive information into the deal-name field if you plan to share the link.

3. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, to measure visits and how features are used. Besides page views, we record events such as running a calculation (state and form only, not your dates), exporting a calendar file, printing, copying a share link, and clicking through to Clyve. Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) and collects information like your device and browser type, approximate location, the pages you visit, and referring sites. Google processes your IP address to provide the service. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We don't use Google Analytics to identify you personally, and we don't send it your email or your deal dates.

You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, by blocking cookies in your browser, or with a content blocker. Learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

4. Newsletter and email reminders

Newsletter. When you join the newsletter, your email address is sent to and stored with our email provider, Resend, which processes it on our behalf to manage the list and send the newsletter. We use it only to send ClosingCal emails you signed up for. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe or ask us to delete your address by emailing hello@8zero7.com. Resend may process technical data such as IP address and email open or click events when emails are delivered.

Deadline reminders by email aren't available yet, and the calculator doesn't collect an email for them. When we launch reminders, we'll update this policy first. Reminders will be sent through Resend using only the dates needed to send them, and we'll delete that data after the deal's deadlines pass.

5. Hosting and server logs

ClosingCal is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel automatically processes technical information to deliver pages and protect the service, including IP address, browser user agent, the page requested (without the “#” fragment), the time, and the referrer. It keeps these logs for a limited period. We use them only for operating, securing, and debugging the site.

7. Your rights (including California and other US states)

Depending on where you live, including California (CCPA/CPRA), Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and other states with privacy laws, you may have the right to:

know what personal information we have about you and get a copy;
correct it or delete it;
opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information or targeted advertising (we don't do either);
not be treated differently for using these rights.

Because we hold very little information that identifies you, often there's nothing to return. To make a request, email hello@8zero7.com. We may need to verify your request, and you may use an authorized agent. If we deny a request, you can appeal by replying to our response. We honor Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out of sale or sharing, though we don't engage in either.

8. Children

ClosingCal is a professional tool, not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

9. Security and retention

We keep the site on HTTPS and limit what we collect. Analytics data is kept according to our Google Analytics retention setting, and hosting logs according to Vercel's retention. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.

10. Changes to this policy

We'll update this policy when our practices change. For example, we'll update it before email reminders launch. When we do, we'll revise the effective date above. Significant changes will be noted on the site.
